Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has come under a lot of criticism after asking for a review despite dropping the catch. The incident took place in the final over of Pakistan Cup match between Federal Areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Ahmed Shehzad dropped a catch while fielding at deep mid-wicket and went for a TV review.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa needed three runs off last four runs before they went on to win the match by three wickets and two balls remaining. Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz was awarded the man of the match trophy for his match winning bowling figure of 5-52. Federal Areas were bowled out for 269 runs in 45.3 overs.

There was some other bad news for Ahmed Shehzad who was the third highest run-scorer for his team Federal Areas as he scored 56 off 60 balls. Ahmed Sehzad’s name was missing from the list of Pakistan’s probable XI for World Cup in England. Some other notable exclusions were Wahab Riaz and Umar Akmal.

This is not the first time that Ahmed Shehzad claimed a catch he dropped. Back in 2015, during an ODI clash between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Shehzad had dropped Lahiru Thirimanne but had later claimed the catch to the umpires. The replays that played on the big screen, however, told a different story.

Pakistan are scheduled to play a five-match ODI series against England before the World Cup starts on May 30. Pakistan will travel to England on April 23 to play the series against the hosts of the World Cup 2019.
