England's all rounder Moeen Ali was slammed for drawing veteran cricketer Sir Vivian Richards's portrait that was shared by him on micro blogging site Twitter.

The well-known Muslim British player has shared his Richards's painting on Twitter and wrote, “Please do support @CricketUnited and bid on my drawing of Sir Viv to support @PCA @Chance2Shine @LordsTaverners.”

But it seems that some people are not interested in supporting his painting as people on Twitter fumed in anger.

There is a section of society that thinks that drawing painting in Islam is a 'major sin'.

As far as Moeen's performance is concerned, the 30-year-old player has been instrumental with his bat as well as ball.

Recently, Moeen got a hat-trick against South Africa, helping England notch up a 239-run victory against South Africa at the Kennington Oval, in London, on Monday.
