Indian pacer Mohammed Shami becomes the fastest Indian to claim 100 ODI wickets. Shami achieved this feat in a match against New Zealand. This was his 56th game in the 50-over format. Other Indians to reach the 100-wicket mark is Irfan Khan (59 ODIs), Zaheer Khan (65 ODIs), Ajit Agarkar (67 ODIs) and Javagal Srinath (68 ODIs).

Earlier in the day, New Zealand won the toss and captain Kane Williamson opted to bat first. New Zealand did not have a good start with the bat as opener Martin Guptill and Colin Munro were dismissed for 5 and 8 runs respectively.

The fall of wickets for the Kiwis were in this order: Martin Guptill and Colin Munro were sent back to the pavilion by Mohammed Shami in the second and fourth over respectively. Ross Taylor was looking good before he was bowled and caught by Yuzvendra Chahal in the fifteenth over. Tom Latham too was dismissed in the similar fashion by Chahal.

India and New Zealand are currently playing a five-match ODI series, the first match is still underway and India are looking good at the moment. Kiwis are at 108-5 and skipper Kane Williamson is looking good with the bat as he scored an amazing half-century.
