MS Dhoni spotted playing volleyball with his Territorial Army battalion; watch video

World Cup winning skipper MS Dhoni, after he made himself unavailable for the West Indies tour, is presently serving with the Territorial Army as an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel. He began his duty on 31st July as was recently seen playing Volleyball with his colleagues, somewhere is Jammu and Kashmir.

MS Dhoni skipped team India’s ongoing tour of West Indies, and there is widespread speculations that former India skipper might call it a day after his disappointing stint in the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2019 that saw India knocked out in the semi finals.


The 37 year old, who is one of the eminent figure of the game is part of the Territorial Army, a reservist force that draws on civilian who can do short stint to assist the military.

MS Dhoni will spend 15 days with the Victor Force who engages in counter-insurgency operations against militants in the region of Kashmir.

 

He will be taking part in patrolling duty, guard and post duty and will also be staying with the troops, the army said in a statement, Army further added that it’s headquarterd had approved a schedule which incorporated MSD’s request.

MS Dhoni has trained as a paratrooper and has completed five parachute jumps to complete his training, an Army official said, adding, this stint in Kashmir is part of his training.

Utilizing sports figures like MS Dhoni, could help the security forces raise their profile, espicially among young people who are their key pool of recruits.
