'MS Dhoni is not a God,' says Sourav Ganguly after he sets a bad example on field

Former India captain and Delhi Capitals’ advisor Sourav Ganguly defended Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his bad behaviour and on-field banter with match umpires. MS Dhoni lost his cool and confronted umpires after they withdrew their decision of no-ball. In post match interview after Delhi versus Kolkata match, Ganguly said, “Everyone is human. What stands out is his competitiveness. It's remarkable.”

Cricket fraternity and many on social media criticised Dhoni for his conduct and many fans came in his support. Dhoni later pleaded guilty and a sanction was imposed on him as his 50 per cent match fee was deducted. Chennai Super Kings eventually won the match as he defeated Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets.


MS Dhoni scored 58 runs off 43 balls before he was dismissed by Ben Stokes. Dhoni tried to play a yorker which he couldn’t connect and the ball went directly into stumps. MS Dhoni was awarded with the man of the match trophy for his match winning knock.

Chennai Super Kings comfortably sits on top of the points table as they have won six out of the seven matches they have played so far. Chennai have 12 points to their name, which is four points more than the second best team Kolkata Knight Riders.

Chennai Super Kings will play Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on April 14. When both teams met the last time, Chennai came out victorious as they won the match by 7 wickets at MA Chidambaram stadium.
