‘Mentally shocked’: Bangladesh cricketers after escaping deadly New Zealand mosques shooting
Bangladesh cricket team on Friday had a narrow escape from a deadly mass shooting at a crowded mosque in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. One of the mosques, where a shooter opened fire--- Masjid al Noor was filled with worshippers, including members of the Bangladesh cricket team. Bangladesh's cricket team escaped unscathed New Zealand mosque shooting.
Bangladesh Cricket Board spokesman Jalal Yunus told media that most of the team members were bussed to the mosque in Christchurch and were about to enter the mosque when the shooting happened.

"They are safe. But they are mentally shocked. We have asked the team to stay confined in the hotel," he said.
Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal wrote on Twitter: "Entire team got saved from active shooters!!! Frightening experience and please keep us in your prayers."
"Alhamdulillah Allah saves us today while shooting in Christchurch in the mosque," tweeted another player, Mushfiqur Rahim.
Following the deadly shooting, Test match between Bangladesh and New Zealand at Hagley Oval scheduled to begin tomorrow has been cancelled after shooting at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand.
"A joint decision between NZC and [Bangladesh] has been made to cancel the Hagley Oval Test," New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White said.
