Mayank Agarwal pens his name in record books after converted his first Test century into double ton

Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal knocks his first double hundred in his eighth Test innings. The 28 year old scored his double hundred from 358 deliveries. Mayank Agarwal became the fourth Indian player to turn his century into a double hundred.

Mayank Agarwal was also involved in a record breaking stand alongside Rohit Sharma. The 317 runs stand for the first wicket was India’s highest against the Proteas. This was the 17th occasion where both the opener have knocked 150 plus score for the men in blue.

The partnership between the two was also the 12th highest opening stand in Test cricket and third highest for team India. Mayank Agarwal was dismissed for 215 off 317 balls, which included 23 fours and six sixes.

Mayank Agarwal made his Test debut against Australia in Melbourne, in his debut match the 28 year old went on to score 71 runs after which he was rewarded with the Test call up.
