IPL 2018: Hotstar sets new benchmark in IPL live streaming match between CSK V SRH

The charismatic match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad sets a new benchmark   across the globe, the 8.26 million concurrent viewers logging into Hotstar as reported by chief executive of the video streaming platform.

The Yellow guns, two time IPL winners CSK registered their spot into the finals after beating SRH on Tuesday.


 

 

Riding on the Faf du Plessis Shoulder, he smashed a thundering 67* runs to frame their thrilling 2 wicket victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

As reported in Indian Express, the Hotstar Chief Executive, Ajit Mohan said that “If I look back over the tournament, we have been hitting new high quite frequently”. “You are watching the match and it also allows you to play a game at the same time. For me, that’s made a huge difference,” Mohan added.

“It has provided us a very clear differentiator for why people should come and watch the match on Hotstar. It has also attracted a whole bunch of casual cricket followers. It is expanding the galaxy of cricket followers and IPL. Casual gaming can be very powerful in a country with young demographics like India".  

The Hotstar streaming service run by the Star India paid a heafty 163.48 billion rupees last September 2017 for the television and digital rights of the IPL for five years.
