Indian squad announced for Sri Lanka test series; Amit Mishra makes a comeback

Leg spinner Amit Mishra returned to the Indian national cricket team, after being named in the 15-member Indian squad for the three match test series in Sri Lanka to be held in August. Mishra, who had last represented India in a test match in 2011, is the third spinner in the squad, the other two being Ravichandra Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh.

There were no other surprises in the squad named by BCCI's All Indian Senior Selection Committee on Thursday, 23 July. India will start their campaign in Sri Lanka with a test match in Galle on 12 August. The second and third tests will be held in Colombo from 20 and 28 August, respectively.

The full squad

Batsmen: Virat Kohli (C),Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, K L Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha (wk).

Bowlers: Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Amit Mishra and Varun Aaron.
