The professional T20 cricket tournament the Indian Premiere League is one of the most watched sports tournament in the world. The league was founded by BCCI in 2007 and will host its 12th edition in 2019.

According to reports, the tournament could be held in South Africa or the United Arab Emirates due to the Indian general elections due in May 2019.

The tournament is also preponed from May to March next season as we also have the ICC Cricket World Cup starting from June 2019.

The Indian Premiere League 2019 edition will be held from 29 March to 19 May.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli also wants the World Cup-bound fast bowlers to be rested from next year's IPL but the idea mooted at a meeting with the Committee of Administrators (CoA) is unlikely to find favour with the franchises.

During a recent meeting of the CoA in Hyderabad, Kohli suggested resting pacers, especially Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, from the entire IPL to keep them fresh for the World Cup.

In fact, Rohit Sharma the captain of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians of which Jasprit Bumrah is also part of disagreed with Virat Kohli on that.
