Hardik Pandya, who was proved to be a Team India's 'Trump card' in the Test before the tour of South Africa, is compared to Kapil Dev only. On the second day of the Cape Town Test, he proved it by playing a tremendous innings of 93 (95 balls) on the occasion of Kapil Dev's birthday. In the Cape Town Test, when India's first innings was disheartened after losing 7 wickets for 92 runs, Pandya's innings helped India cross 200.

Pandya, who missed the fourth Test, missed the century, but he reminded Kapil Dev with this daring innings which he played in the Port Elizabeth Test during India's first tour of Africa in 1992.
