India vs South Africa, 1st ODI

In the first match of the six-match series, India and South Africa teams will be face-to-face on the Kingsmead Playing Field. Both teams would like to start with the series for winning opener. India will want to improve its previous record in the one-day series against South Africa. India had lost 2-5 in 1992-93, 0-4 in 2006-07, 2-3 in 2010-11 and 0-2 in 2013-24. Apart from this, India also played two triangular series in 1996-97 and 2001-02, which included teams from Zimbabwe and Kenya, but both of them emerged from the winner of South Africa.

Another interesting thing in the ODI series for the Indian team is that the team will now have experienced players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Team India players have opportunities to script many records in this series. Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni could make two or two records in the match if he played well. Apart from this, Akshar Patel, Mohammed Shami and Shikhar Dhawan also have the opportunity to make a record in this series.

Let us see which of India's players can make records in this series:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Former India captain Dhoni has hunted 398 batsman as a keeper in ODIs. If Dhoni bats out two South African batsmen in the first match, then he will be the fourth wicketkeeper to do so in ODIs. If Dhoni gets 4 players out, then he will become the fourth keeper of 600th victim in cricket.

Dhoni has scored 9, 898 runs in his ODI career so far. If Dhoni carries a score of 102 with his century in this series, he will become the 12th player to do this in the world and the fourth player of India.

Mohammed Shami

This Indian bowler has taken 91 wickets in ODIs so far. If he takes 9 wickets in this series and he will be the fastest Indian bowler to take 100 wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan

The cricketer has played 96 matches in his ODI career. If Dhawan is playing 4 matches and his 100 ODIs will be complete. Not only this, if Dhawan hits 13 boundaries in this series, then his 500 fours will be completed.

Akshar Patel

Bowler Akshar Patel has taken 45 wickets in his ODI career so far. If he takes 5 wickets in this series, then he will become the bowler who takes 50 wickets in one-dayers.
