India were all-out for 250 runs in 48.2 overs. Opener Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan did not give India a good start as Sharma was dismissed for a golden duck and his partner Shikhar Dhawan made 29-ball 21 before he was dismissed lbw by Glenn Maxwell. Indian skipper Virat Kohli came in and played a fantastic knock as he made his 40th century.

Ambati Rayudu couldn’t prove his mantle once again as he was dismissed for 32-ball 18 by Nathan Lyon. Vijay Shankar was looking good as he made 41-ball 46 before his unfortunate dismissal by Adam Zampa. MS Dhoni came in and was sent back to pavilion by Zampa. Kedar Jadhav too was dismissed by Zampa for 12-ball 11.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made 40-ball 21 before he was dismissed by Pat Cummins. Pat Cummins for Australia was the highest wicket-taker as he took four wickets. Adam Zampa took two wickets while Nathan Coulter-Nile, Glenn Maxwell and Nathan Lyon took one wicket each.

India and Australia are now playing the second ODI match at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. Both the teams will be looking to win the match as they are preparing for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup.

Australia won the two-match T20I series against India by 2-0 and are currently down by 0-1 in the five-match ODI series. Australia lost the first ODI match against India by six wickets in Hyderabad. At one point they were looking good when they dismissed four for 99 but couldn’t continue the momentum as MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav chased down 237 run target with their 141 run partnership stand.
