Former Australian cricketer turned commentator Kerry O’Keefe passed a racist comment against Mayank Agarwal and Indian domestic first-class cricket tournament Ranji Trophy. Keefe was doing commentary with Australian spin legend Shane Warne during the Third Test match in Melbourne Cricket Ground.

O’Keefe questioned the quality of Ranji Trophy in which Mayank Agarwal scored a triple-century in November last year. Agarwal scored 304* in Ranji Trophy match against Maharashtra, which is the highest first class score till date.

O’Keefe while doing commentary said, Mayank Agarwal may have scored 304 runs against ‘some canteen staff or waiters.’ O’Keefe played 24 Tests for Australia between 1971 to 1977 taking 53 wickets, he was a leg-spinner by trade.

Mayank Agarwal made an impressive 76 runs on debut against Australia in MCG on Wednesday.

At stumps on Day 1, India is at 215 for 2 with Hanuma Vihari and Mayank Agarwal opening after KL Rahul and Murali Vijay was axed out of the team for not performing well in the last two Tests. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli will come out and bat Tomorrow as they stayed unbeaten Today. Pujara made 68 runs facing 200 balls while his partner Kohli was 47 not out facing 107 balls.

Pat Cummins for Australia was the most successful in the entire lot as he took 2 wickets giving just 40 runs in the 19 overs he bowled. While the most economical off all was Mitchell Marsh, who gave 23 runs in his 15 overs at an economy of 1.53.
