His performance with the bat in the ongoing World Cup has been formidable, his ability to switch gears as the game progresses, sets him class apart from others.

He is the leading run scorer in the World Cup 2019 with 544 runs in just 7 matches, his 544 runs includes 4 centuries and 1 fifty. Impressed by Rohit’s brilliant form, skipper Virat Kohli went on to say that he is the best ODI player in the modern era.

“I have been watching it for years now, I have been saying it publicly, in my opinion Rohit is the best One-day player. When he plays, we are heading towards a big score and really happy with the way he’s playing,” Indian captain Kohli said at the post-match presentation.

Rohits Sharma was on nine runs, when his catch was dropped by Tamim Iqbal. But the opener made full use of the error and made the Bangladesh team pay as he went on to score his fourth hundred of the campaign.

“A batsman like Rohit Sharma in such form, but it happens in cricket and we cannot blame Tamim for that,” Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza added.

At the moment it looks like the Indian team is fully dependent on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, no other batsmen are will to take the initiative and show the intent.
