Shakib Al Hasan, yet again dispalyed a fine performance in a win against Afganistan at the World Cup match on Monday. With this victory, Bangladesh’s semi finals hope stays intact next to some of the heavyweights.

After their win against Afghanistan, the all rounder has his eyes on pinning down the men in blue in the World Cup 2019, much like what Bangladesh did in the 2007 World Cup. Shakib Al Hasan knows that it will be tough to beat India but thinks his side has enough potency to do so.

"They (India) are the top side. They are someone who is looking at the title. So it's not going to be easy, but having said that, we'll give our best shot," Shakib told reporters.

"Experience will help, but experience is not the end of the world. We have to play our best cricket in order to be able to beat India.”

"They got world-class players who can take the matters on their own hand. As I said, we have to be at our best, and I believe that we are a capable enough team," he added.

Shakib, who is the highest run getter in this ongoing World Cup with 476 runs, scored 51 runs against Afghanistan, which helped his team to put up a score of 262/7.

The 32 year old all rounder then tore through Afghanistan batting line up, taking five wickets and giving away just 29 runs from stipulated 10 overs, which became his career best figures in ODIs

Shakib Al Hasan became the second player in the World Cup history to take five wickets and score fifty runs in the same match after India’s Yuvraj Singh against Ireland in 2011.
