Indian skipper Virat Kohli had terrific performance with the bat on Day 2 of the first Test match against England in England at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Kohli has known for its consistancy and sets a new record in the history of Indian cricket. Virat Kohli broke the record of former skipper of West Indies Brian Lara.


Virat Kohli  completed fastest 7000 runs in Test cricket in 124 innings while on the Brian Lara complted 7000 runs in 164 innings.

Ravichandra Ashwin again strikes in the 2nd innings of England. He scalped 3 wickets. He also completed 200 wickets under the leadership of Virat Kohli.

Riding on the shoulder of Virat Kohli Indian team manage to score 274 runs on the second day with all wickets down.

Indian run-machine Virat Kohli fought a lone battle for his side and scored 149 runsfrom 225 balls he faced. This innings will probably go down as one of the best the Kohli has played in whites with red ball in England.

Virat Kohli continued to go after the England bowlers to notch up 22 fours and a six during his 225-ball knock.

Virat Kohli has broken the record of former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin. As skipper in England he scored 121 runs at Lords in the year 1990.

In year 2014, 134 runs in 10 innings, questions tightly slapped towards him and he answered them gainly, but he was wanted this innings, and when the conditions were tough he stood up and delivered.
