As the much-anticipated Champions Trophy final match between India and Pakistan is going to be aired on 18 June, the television advertising rates have been multiplied 10 times than the normal price as millions of people are expected to remain glued to their screens, industry sources said.

The lowest ranked team Pakistan stunned favourites England by registering a resounding eight-wicket win to enter the finals of the ongoing tournament at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on Wednesday.

Australian-born American media mogul Rupert Murdoch's Star Sports is expected to cost 10 million rupees ($155,267) for a 30-second ad spot which is 10 times higher than the 1 million rupees that advertisers pay on average for most Indian shows.

A person in the sports broadcasting industry said that the fewer than 10% slots are left for the final.

"India v Pakistan Final... !!!!!!!! All TV execs around the world are now cracking a nice bottle open to celebrate," tweeted former England captain Michael Vaughan.

Before this, the high-octane summit clash, the last time India and Pakistan played a one-day international was during the 2015 World Cup.

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli is the sole sportsperson from the country to feature among the world's 100 highest paid athletes in the latest Forbes list topped by soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.
