Many veteran cricketers including the former legendary Indian batter Sunil Gavaskar and India's head coach Ravi Shastri were among those who favourites India against Pakistan in the final of Champions Trophy 2017.

Pakistan's win over India in the finale of champions trophy by 180 runs will always be remembered as the biggest upset in the history of cricket. Virat Kohli's boys who were favourites in the champions trophy, due to their win in the group stage against Pakistan were not able to handle Pakistan's team.

Many legendary cricketers have predicted that India has better chances of winning the CT finale, but it was former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri's remark on Pakistan that fired Pakistan in the final. According to Talat Ali, who was managing Pakistan squad team during the Champions Trophy said, "India wrote us off in the final. I was listening to the analysis of Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri and they gave us no chance. That fired up the boys. It was called a no-contest and we were written off. We said let the bat and ball do the talking," While talking to Cricbuzz Ali said.

Pakistan's win over India in the ICC Champions Trophy finale was Pak's one of the biggest achievement in the history of Pakistan cricket after their 2009 World Twenty20 win. Not only this, but the win also broke those myths of Pakistan 'never performing well' in any big match against men-in-blue. The win was also considered big because Pakistani team can't play international cricket in their home ground due to security issues.
