After winning two matches in a row, there is a bad news for Mumbai Indians fans. Skipper Rohit Sharma sustains injury and might not play tonight’s game. Sharma was seen collapsing and clutching his thighs before team physio Nitin Patel helped him pick himself up. Rohit was surrounded by his team-mates and support staff after he got injured.

The incident happened during a training session at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium ahead of the match against Kings XI Punjab. Mumbai was looking to take revenge on Punjab as they were defeated by them in Mohali on March 30.

Rohit Sharma continued his streak poor performances from last IPL as he has not been able to score runs for his team consistently. Rohit’s captaincy is something that cricket pundits appreciate and if he is not able to play today’s game it is definitely a bad news for Mumbai Indians and its fans.

Rohit has played 178 matches in the Indian Premier League and has 4,611 runs under his belt. Rohit has 34 half-centuries and one century to his name. Rohit was one of the most consistent batsman for Deccan Chargers in the first three seasons and played a crucial part in their victory in 2009.

Mumbai Indians are currently sitting at number five on the points table as they have won three out of the six matches they have played so far. Mumbai is behind Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mumbai have six points to their name but are behind Hyderabad because of their net run rate.
