Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 40 runs, debutant Alzarri Joseph shines as he breaks 11 year old record to register the best bowling figure of 6-12.

Mumbai Indians finished their innings at 136-7 in 20 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bowl first against Mumbai Indians and the decision proved to be a good one. Hyderabad bowling attack demolished Mumbai’s top-order as Rohit Sharma went for just 11 runs. Sharma was dismissed by Mohammed Nabi in the 4th over.


Suryakumar Yadav came in and was sent back by Sandeep Sharma for 7 runs off 8 balls. Quinton de Kock was dismissed by Siddarth Kaul for 18-ball 19. Krunal Pandya was the next batsman to go a mistimed a shot and Jonny Bairstow did no mistake in taking the catch. Pandya was dismissed by Kaul for 6 runs.

Ishan Kishan became victim of an unfortunate run-out as he was sent back for 17 runs. Hardik Pandya was dismissed by Rashid Khan for 14-ball 14. Rahul Chahar was dismissed by Bhuveneshwar Kumar for 10 runs.

Kieron Pollard took the matters in his own hands as he hit 26-ball 46. Siddarth Kaul took two wickets, while Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Bhuveneshwar Kumar and Sandeep Sharma took one wicket each.

David Warner and Jonny Bairstow started the innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad and both of them were looking good before Bairstow was dismissed by Rahul Chahar for 10-ball 16.

In form David Warner was the next batsman to go as he was dismissed by debutant Alzarri Joseph for 13-ball 15. Joseph striked in his first ball off the first match and took wicket of a dangerous batsman. From there on Sunrisers lost wickets at regular intervals.

Vijay Shankar was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph for just 5 runs. Manish Pandey was dismissed by Jason Behrendorff for 21-ball 16. Deepak Hooda was looking good but he gave his wicket under pressure of scoring runs. Hooda was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph for 24-ball 20.

Yusuf Pathan was dismissed by Rahul Chahar for a golden duck. Mohammad Nabi was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah for 14-ball 11. Rashid Khan was caught and bold by Alzarri Joseph for a golden duck. Bhuveneshwar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul was also dismissed by Alzarri Joseph.
