The finance minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the union budget 2019, announces a facility for taxpayers. She announced that from now onwards the taxpayers can only pay taxes through PAN or Aadhar, they don't need both. Earlier the taxpayers needed both government identity cards but now Nirmala Sitharaman has announced an easy way for the taxpayers.

Nirmala Sitharaman said, "More than 120 crore Indians now have Aadhar card, therefore for ease of tax payers I propose to make PAN card and Aadhar card interchangeable and allow those who don't have PAN to file returns by simply quoting Aadhar number and use it wherever they require to use PAN"

She announced if the taxpayer has Aadhar card but don't have PAN card can also pay their tax and return by using their Aadhar number. The same goes for the people who have PAN card but don't have Aadhar Card.

With that announcement, Nirmala Sitharaman also announced help for NRIs to get Aadhar card in the easiest. She announced that NRIs will not have to wait for the next six months to get Aadhar card, they will get Aadhar card immediately.
