Shah Rukh Khan won rave reviews for his performance in Chak De India (2007). Before the sports film hit the theatres, the makers unveiled a promotional video for the film.
The video featured Coach Kabir Khan - immortalised by SRK - introducing his hockey team to the world.
Aamir Khan seems to be taking a cue from Chak De India, nine years after the hockey drama won over viewers.
Aamir, who is currently wrapping up work on his film Dangal, has announced plans to shoot for a promotional track for the film. The track, which will be composed by Pritam and shot in Mumbai, is expected to be unveiled by the end of July.
According to the latest update, the video will feature Aamir introducing his onscreen daughters, played by Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
Aamir will play himself in the video and not his character of Mahavir Singh Phogat, the protagonist of Dangal - which is based on the Phogat family's prowess in the field of wrestling.
Dangal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is slated to hit the big screen on 23 December 2016.
