Baaghi Box Office: Excellent opening for the Tiger Shroff - Shraddha Kapoor film

Baaghi has opened well at the Box Office as it raked in Rs 11.87 crore on its opening day, which is a huge total for a film starring two relatively new faces.

The Tiger Shroff - Shraddha Kapoor film has performed exceptionally at mass centres like CP, CI, Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam and Odisha. In fact, the film is the biggest opener of 2016, going past Shah Rukh Khan's Fan at all mass circuits except Rajasthan.

It has performed decently in multiplexes as well on its opening day. However, there is scope for growth at the metros on Saturday. Going by the general trend of such films over the years, collections will drop by around 10-15 per cent on Saturday at the mass circuits, but it would be interesting to see if metro collections help it stay steady at the same level.

Baaghi is the third biggest opening of 2016 after Fan (Rs 19.20) and Airlift (Rs 12.35). The movie is now looking to breach past the Rs 30 crore mark at the Box-Office in its opening weekend and the hold on Monday will give an insight about the lifetime collections. As the single screens are contributing big time for Baaghi, the film has a chance to record the second highest footfall for a Bollywood film in 2016.

Even though critics haven't been too kind to Baaghi, the audience word-of-mouth seems to be working in the film's favour.
