Tamasha completes 2 years: Ranbir Kapoor said yes to 'Tamasha' even before 'Rockstar'; Imtiaz made this film only for his Rockstar

Ranbir Kapoor's career was going through a bad phase since 2013, as Besharam bombed at the box office, till the release of his successful film Tamasha at the end of 2015.

With Tamasha, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali emerged as a saviour for Ranbir Kapoor or a turning point for the actor's career.

Ranbir Kapoor established himself as a versatile actor and a shinning star through his first collaboration with the director for Rockstar in 2011. After the success of Rockstar, Imtiaz Ali again collaborated with Ranbir Kapoor for Tamasha and again this film came out as a saviour for the Rockstar actor.

Now when Tamasha has completed 2 years on silver screen, the filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has shared some memories and facts about the film. Imtiaz Ali has revealed that when he was writing the script of Tamasha, he already kept Ranbir Kapoor in his mind.

The director has accepted that the film was made for Ranbir and in case, the actor had not liked the script or he would have rejected it, then Imtiaz would not have gone ahead with the movie.

On the other hand, Imtiaz also revealed that it was not Rockstar, it was Tamasha that was initially offered to Ranbir, but that time Ranbir was keen to work on Rockstar so they pushed Tamasha for some other time. Later, Imtiaz came with Tamasha script and Ranbir immediately accepted it.

Well, the same was not with Deepika Padukone as she was not the first choice of the role. Imtiaz Ali earlier had approached Anushka Sharma for the role but she rejected it and later it went to Deepika Padukone.
