Sultan Box Office: Salman Khan film breezes past Rs 200 crore mark in 7 days

Salman Khan's Sultan raked in over Rs 200 crore in just seven days, becoming the fastest film in Bollywood history to achieve this feat, surpassing Dhoom 3 and Bajrangi Bhaijaan which took nine days to enter the coveted club.

The Ali Abbas Zafar-directorial witnessed the first major drop in collections on Monday as it raked in Rs 15.54 crore on its sixth day. The drop in collections on Monday was expected after a front loaded opening weekend of Rs 181 crore.

Sultan was steady across all territories on Tuesday as the film collected approximately Rs 13 crore, taking the seven-day total to Rs 209 crore.

Day Wise Collections:

  • Opening Weekend (5 Days): Rs 180.36 crore
  • Monday: Rs 15.54 crore
  • Tuesday: Rs 13.00 crore (Early Estimate)
  • Total: Rs 209 crore (Early Estimate)

Producers YRF have already earned a massive profit, a little over Rs 100 crore in just six days and the film is the eighth blockbuster for Salman Khan since 2010. The movie is now looking to pose a strong total of over Rs 300 crore in its lifetime run, however the second weekend collections will make it clear if it manages to surpass Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK and become the highest grossing Hindi film of all time.

Salma Khan leads with four films in the Rs 200 crore club followed by Aamir Khan whose three films have earned more than Rs 200 crore at the Box Office.

The 200 crore club of Bollywood:

  • 3 Idiots: Rs 202 crore

  • Chennai Express: Rs 225 crore

  • Dhoom 3: Rs 274 crore

  • Kick: Rs 232 crore

  • Happy New Year: Rs 201 crore

  • PK: Rs 340 crore

  • Bajrangi Bhaijaan: Rs 320 crore

  • Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: Rs 210 crore

  • Sultan: Rs 209 crore (in seven days)
