After Shivaay, Baadshaho and a yet-to-be-titled film with Remo D' Souza, actor Ajay Devgn will start work on his ambitious next project,Sons Of Sardaar.
The film is not a sequel to his 2012 comedy film, Son Of Sardaar, but is a period drama with an ensemble cast. As revealed by a leading daily, Sons Of Sardaar - which calls for five big names in the starcast - will be on the lines of hit Hollywood drama, The Expendables.
However, the film will be based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi - which was fought between 21 Sikhs of the 36th Sikh Regiment of British India and over 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen.
Devgn is currently busy with the post-production work of his dream project, Shivaay. But the actor is said to be keen to rope in Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty for the three pivotal roles in Sons Of Sardaar.
The daily quotes a source as saying, "While he is in talks with Salman and Sanjay, two more heroes will also be finalised. Ajay is making sure that in the script and screenplay all the five major characters are given equal footage. Salman is very excited about the script and also keen to co-produce it with Ajay, who will direct and produce the film. All of the actors will sport beards and a turban as they are from the Sikh regiment."
The Drishyam actor wants Sons Of Sardaar to be an action-packed film and is reportedly considering getting a few action directors from Hollywood on board to choreograph the action sequences in the film.
