Alia Bhatt has repeatedly insisted that Shah Rukh Khan's role in Dear Zindagi is more than just being an extended cameo. The film, which features the superstar as a psychiatrist, revolves around the transformation of Alia Bhatt's character.
In an interview to a leading entertainment portal, Alia Bhatt was asked to speak about Shah Rukh Khan's role in the Gauri Shinde directorial. She said:
"If you remove Shah Rukh Khan from Dear Zindagi then there is no film. In that way, you can say that he is a very integral part of the film,"
Alia Bhatt won a lot of acclaim for her portrayal of a Bihari migrant in Udta Punjab. When asked to sum up her professional life in 2016, the actress said:
"Ending the year with a Shah Rukh Khan film is like a cherry on the cake. Honestly speaking, I am very excited for this film for two reasons. One of the biggest reasons is that I am working with Shah Rukh Khan for the first time and just working with him, being in one frame of the film. I never thought that dream would even come true and the second reason is that I feel it's a very sweet, simple and unique story,"
Dear Zindagi releases on 25 November 2016.
