Sultan is, undoubtedly, one of the biggest releases of 2016. The film, which stars Salman Khan as Haryanvi Wrestler Sultan Ali Khan requires the actor to gain muscle as the movie includes fight sequences with international wrestlers.

The film is said to be a story of an underdog from Haryana who represents India at the Beijing Olympics. While reports suggest that Salman Khan and Team Sultan will travel to China soon for an important schedule of the film, Catch asked Ali Abbas Zafar to confirm the same, the director said,

"Right now I am not sure if we will go to China to shoot for the film or no. Yes, there are plans but I can give the official confirmation only in March as, if we go, that would be the last schedule of Sultan. We are expecting to wrap the shooting of the film by April end."

The trade is filled with rumours about the leading lady of Sultan. While some say Deepika Padukone will be paired alongside Salman Khan in the sporting drama, some other reports state that Kriti Sanon has bagged the big project. However, the director of the film reveals that the female lead does not have much to do in the Sultan and hence, the announcement will be made only by the end of January.

"Major portions of Sultan will be shot without the female lead. We will announce the female lead of Sultan by January end," revealed Zafar exclusively to Catch.

Sultan is slated to release during Eid next year.
