Sultan Box Office: The Salman Khan film breaks records everywhere in India barring Mumbai

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sultan continued the good Box Office run on its second day, 7 July, as well. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial has went on to garner Rs 37. 20 crore on the second day of its release.

It witnessed an impressive Day 1 at the mass belts. Core Hindi circuits like East Punjab, Central India (CI), Rajasthan, Nizam, and UP recorded near 100% occupancy through the day, paving the path for Sultan to set all-time circuit records at the mass belts. However, Gujarat failed to record phenomenal collections, contrary to expectations.

Here's how Sultan fared in the mass circuits on 6 and 7 July:

East Punjab

6 July - Rs 3.91 crore

7 July - Rs 4.03 crore

Central India

6 July - Rs 1.39

7 July - Rs 1.91 crore

Rajasthan

6 July - Rs 2.15 crore

7 July - Rs 2.65 crore

Nizam

6 July - Rs 2.45

7 July - Rs 3.01

Among the metro cities, Delhi-Gurgaon fared exceptionally well as the film recorded occupancy of 70% on 7 July, similar to the opening day figures. The Mumbai circuit was steady on the second day. However, it failed to set any circuit records. Mumbai is one of the very few territories where Sultan has not set any records. The record holder for the highest one-day collection is Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which collected Rs 14 cr in one day as against Rs 11 cr by Sultan.

Day-wise Box Office collections of Sultan:

Day One (6 July): Rs 36.54 crore

Day Two (7 July): Rs 37. 20 crore

Total: 73.64 crore

The sports drama now looks set to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in three days. The initial word of mouth surrounding the film is fairly positive.
