The Zee Cine Awards 2016 was held in Mumbai on 20 February. But this year's awards stood out as the most interesting ceremony yet.

In a rare win, Harshaali Malhotra beat other all the other nominees - to become one of the youngest winners of the Best Female Debut Award.

The red carpet too witnessed some fun moments. Actor Arjun Kapoor, high on the promotions for his upcoming film, Ki and Ka, walked the red carpet in red high heels.

This year's edition had a number of fresh additions - including the Jury Awards and the Integrated National Award.

However, one aspect of the award ceremony remained consistent. As Bollywood has come to expect from its recent award functions, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone managed to steal the limelight.

Ranveer bagged the Best Actor Male (Jury) for Bajirao Mastani. What's more? He also made sure to be on stage every time Bajirao Mastani won an award - which is no mean feat considering the Sanjay Leela Bhansali epic swept a majority of the awards including Best Film (Jury), Best Director (Jury), Best Actress (Viewers' Choice), Best Background score and Best Visual effects, to name a few.

To nobody's surprise, Deepika Padukone bagged the Best Actor Female Award for Piku. However, she was unable to attend the award in person as she is currently away, shooting for her Hollywood debut, XXX: Return of Xander Cage.

The Zee Cine Awards 2016 awards will be telecast across 169 countries on the Zee bouquet of channels on 5 March.
