All rumours about the starcast of Padmavati have finally been put to rest. In an official statement, the makers of the period drama have confirmed that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SLB)-directorial will star Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the lead.
The film, which is said to be mounted on a budget of Rs 150 crore, will be produced and distributed by VIACOM 18 Motion Pictures and co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Padmavati is expected to go on floors in November this year.
The makers have confirmed that the film will release in 2017. However, there is no confirmation on whether it will hit the screens on Christmas - as was previously reported.
The film is Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's third association with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
