Rani Mukerji who made her comeback with film Hichki is all set to star again. Mukherji who has given many hits such as Veer Zaara, Aiyya, and her 2014 release Mardaani in which Rani Mukerji played the role cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy, the fearless cop. In the film Rani was seen dealing the issue of child-trafficking.
Rani is set to essay the role of Shivani the fearless cop again in the sequel of Mardaani 2 , Yash Raj has confirmed the sequel and shooting of Mardaani 2 will start from 18th March. In this sequel Rani will essay the role of Shivani but in this movie her rank has been upgrade to Supritendent of police. In thi she will be dealing with a 21-year-old merciless villain. DNA quoted a source associated with the film as saying, "Rani is raring to go and it will be thrilling to see her back in action as Shivani Shivaji Roy. What adds to the curiosity is that this time, the villain is a 21-year old who knows no empathy. Their edge-of-the-seat showdown will have the audiences glued to their seats."
Last year, Rani confirmed starring in the film and said in a statement, "Mardaani is and will always remain close to my heart. Right since its release, everyone has asked me time and again when I would be doing Mardaani 2 and I am sure this announcement will come as a present surprise to them all. Gopi has written an extraordinary script, that we’ll all love and I can’t wait to Start shooting this film soon." Mardaani 2 is set to realse by the second half of 2019.
Rani Mukerji made her come back with her last movie Hichki post the delivery of her daughter Adira, this movie left a huge impact on the minds of the society.
