Karan Johar unveils the first look of Kalank, starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt; teaser to release today

Finally, the first look of Karan Johar's next biggie project Kalank has come out and the film is being told a period drama. 2 States fame director Abhishek Varman has directed this magnum opus film that stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The film is set in the backdrop of 1940s Lahore, and it will show a bravery fight of freedom fighters.

 

While the producer Karan Johar sharing the first look revealed that the journey of Kalank is going to start from today, on 7th March. With this, the excitement level for the film has reached to a high level. The first look has come out with a back look of the boat having Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur sitting.

Karan Johar while talking about Kalank told that the film was actually, his father's last dream film to make. He wrote, A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago....a film I passionately believe in...the last film my father worked on before he left us....it was his dream to see this film come through....I couldn’t fulfil his dream then....my spirit was broken....but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid....the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice....the film has been woven,nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN....and the film Is KALANK! Set in the 40’s but it’s heart lives on.....TOMORROW the journey begins.....am excited ...anxious and emotional about this one...I do hope you join us on our path to undying love.....#KALANK"

The film is slated to release on 19th April 2019, and it is a multistarrer that has made after a long time in Hindi cinema. With this, the trend of the multistarrer film has come back and we will see films like Takht also in next year.
