Eid 2016 was set to witness a clash between two superstars' films, Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Salman Khan's Sultan. After the success of Chennai Express, Shah Rukh Khan had blocked the Eid 2016 slot for the release of his upcoming crime thriller, Raees, whereas Salman Khan had plans to continue the tradition of an Eid release with Sultan.
However, according to leading trade analyst Komal Nahta, Raees has been postponed and the new release date of the film will be announced soon. He tweeted,
And now, here's the news of the year!! ShahRukhKhan's Raees has been postponed. It will NOT clash with SalmanKhan's Sultan on Eid this year.

Surprisingly, the film's producer, Ritesh Sidhwani labelled the rumours to be baseless and confirmed that the Rahul Dholakia directorial will release on Eid 2016 as scheduled.

In Raees, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen essaying the character of a bootlegger. Salman Khan will be seen as a three times Haryanvi State Wrestling Champion in Sultan.
