Akshay Kumar does action sequences to overcome his fears, says Prabhu Dheva

After Rowdy Rathore, the director-actor duo of Prabhu Dheva and Akshay Kumar is back with Singh Is Bliing, which releases on 2 October. Talking about the pressure to deliver yet another entertainer, Prabhu Dheva said,

"There is a lot of pressure on me but that is not because we (Akshay and Prabhu) are coming back together after a huge hit like Rowdy Rathore. I am always tense before the release of my film... I am nervous about the audience reaction. I hope Singh Is Bliing does better business than Rowdy Rathore."

Prabhu Dheva is known for action entertainers like Wanted, Rowdy Rathore, R.Rajkumar, etc. This is his first comic venture. He explains,

"As a director, I have to do all kind of films. All my films have an element of comedy, but Singh Is Bliing is 80 per cent comedy and 20 per cent action. It was great to have Akshay on board as he is known for his comic timings."

His last film, Action Jackson, was slammed by critics and the film even failed to attract the audience. It is considered one of Ajay Devgn's worst films in recent years as well. Prabhu Deva admitted it was a mistake and said,

"Of course, I was affected by the failure of Action Jackson. Every human being is affected by failure and I am no different. Everyone gets a second chance and I am lucky enough to get it so early. I went completely wrong in Action Jackson and I take all the blame for the film's failure."

Despite his films being super-hits at the Box-Office, they have never managed to get a positive reaction from critics. Does that negatively impact Prabhu Dheva?

"Everyone, including critics, have a right to speak about a film. If they don't like my films, that is their opinion but I will try to satisfy them too with my upcoming films."

Having worked with Akshay Kumar twice, Prabhu Dheva has some great things to say about the actor.

"I was spell bound by Akshay Kumar thrice while shooting for Singh Is Bliing. First, when we were discussing things beyond films and Akshay spoke about an incident and accepted that he was wrong at that particular moment. I feel accepting one's mistake is one of the toughest things to do and despite being such a big superstar; Akshay did that without thinking twice. 'I bowed my head sir but in life better to always bow your head, so that you will be better' was the advice he gave me. Another good thing about Akshay is that he wants to overcome his fears. He loves to do dare devil stunts all by himself so that he can overcome his fear. He is a very nice person. He loves to help people and doesn't like to publicise it. I think Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan are the real 'Being Humans' in this industry."

"Every director has a dream to direct Rajini Sir and even I would love to direct him someday. But, Rajini Sir selects his directors... Directors don't select Rajini Sir!"

A fantastic dancer himself, Prabhu Deva feels every dancer has his own style. According to him,

"Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Tiger Shroff and Ranbir Kapoor are few of finest dancers in India. People love watching them dance."

There have been reports that the R.Rajkumar Jodi of Shahid Kapoor and Prabhu Deva will be back once again. Clearing the air around the film, Prabhu said,

"Yes, I will be doing a film with Shahid and we have been discussing a few ideas. It will happen very soon, but the script is not locked as of now."
