Akshay Kumar has reportedly put Ikka on the back-burner as the actor is not too keen to sign South Indian remakes.

With Ikka being put on hold, the actor has been reading various scripts and one which has impressed him the most is Brothers director, Karan Malhotra's next film. Khiladi has loved the basic premise but is yet to officially come on board.

According to media reports, after directing two dramas - Agneepath and Brothers - Malhotra's next is a comedy film wherein he plans to present Akshay Kumar in a different avatar. The movie will be produced by Karan Johar under his banner, Dharma Productions.

Akshay Kumar is currently working out dates for the film as he already has films like Jolly LLB 2, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Crack and Robot 2.0 slated to release next year.
