Has Kareena Kapoor replaced Priyanka Chopra in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gustakhiyan?

Actress Kareena Kapoor, whose film Ki and Ka released on 1 April, told Catch during an interaction that she is yet to sign a script after Udta Punjab. She had then lamented that Bollywood lacks good stories. However, it appears as though Kareena may have found the script she was seeking.

According to media reports, Kareena Kapoor is in talks with ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his next production venture, Gustakhiyan.

The film is based on the relationship between noted poet-lyricist Abdul Hayee - better known by his pen name, Sahir Ludhianvi and poetess Amrita Pritam.

Though Priyanka Chopra was Bhansali's first choice for the film, the actress has reportedly not signed on yet. And if Kareena signs on, this will be her first ever collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. What's more, she will also be paired opposite acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan for the first time.

The movie will be directed by Jasmeet Dodhi, who earlier directed one segment in Dus Kahaniyaan.
