This is to notice while doing the promotions of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir Kapoor several times revealed that it is like a biopic for Karan Johar. Actually, in his own biography Karan Johar has revealed that there was a time when he was in love with childhood friend Twinkle Khanna, but when she got married to Akshay Kumar he was heartbroken. So, somehow the first half of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was inspired from Karan Johar's own life.
In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir Kapoor was in the one side love for Anushka Sharma, but Anushka Sharma was in love for Fawad Khan and she even got married to him in the film.
