Wazir includes a character inspired by Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah

Farhan Akhtar and the team of Wazir launched the theatrical trailer of the film a couple of weeks ago at an event in Mumbai. At the event, the team discussed about how it took over 10 years to zero down on the script which the producer of the film Vidhu Vinod Chopra believes makes for a perfect Indian thriller.

Farhan Akhtar, who will be seen in an action avatar for the first time, revealed that it was tough for him to perform all the action sequences with conviction and revealed that he had to opt out of Raees because of Wazir. As the film is slated to release on 8 January 2015, sources reveal that one of the important characters in the film is inspired by Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah who was recently in the news for his comments about Azad Kashmir.

While the makers have kept the character under wraps to stay away from controversies and keep the intrigue around the film alive, a glimpse of the actor seen in the character inspired by Kashmir CM is visible in the theatrical trailer of the film too.
