Delhi Crime: Shefali Shah talks about the most horrifying scene; know why she begged on the sets

The most horrifying case that India witnessed ever was the 2012 Delhi Gang Rape which gave goosebumps to everyone in Delhi and shook every corner of the country. The most dreadful, heinous case that just by its imagination, not just female but also males start feeling pain one cannot even bearly think what all pain Nirbhaya had to face. Based on this true-life incident a web series ‘Delhi Crime’ which is helmed by Richie Mehta, is being featured on Netflix.

The web series stares Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain and Rajesh Tailang and has seven episodes. This series is the insight into the police world, how they function, challenges they face, internal politics, limitations, etc. In this series actress, Shefali Shah will be seen as Vartika Chaturvedi said that she was inspired by Chhaya Sharma who headed this case and nabbed the culprits.

In this Shefali was seen in the tough role where she has to manage the rebellious team to solve the case. When asked Shefali on how was her experience when she was filming for this series to which she said it was a tough job and there was a moment where she broke into tears as she didn't want to shoot that scene.

She added that this scene was shoot for the first episode where Vartika deputy commissioner gets the details of the case from the doctors and had to instruct her team as to how they will nab the culprits. This scene was very harrowing to her and wanted to start with this particular scene. She said that she requested the makers and even begged that she doesn't want to shoot this scene but makers didn't listende to her.

Although the scene was deleted by the makers, still Shefali had to enact that part which was 12 pages long. She explained why the scene was horrifying for her, the scene was all about she standing outside the hospital with her team and instructing everyone on how they will nab the culprits of Nirbhaya and all that only one moment comes where people can see the human side of Vartika where she says “It’s not just heinous, its insanity” and this part was not as easy as it seems.

She confessed that before this scene she was brawling in her vanity van and was crying her heart out as she was not able to enact that chunk as she has to showcase the inhuman side of her which was very difficult for her.
