Salman Khan is no stranger to breaking records.

In 2013, he became the first Bollywood actor to sign a deal with Star Network. The deal, which gave the network the exclusive rights to screen all Salman's films between 2013 and 2018, was inked for a jaw-dropping figure of Rs 500 crore.

Stars like Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgn followed suit, and signed deals with the network worth Rs 550 crore and Rs 400 crore, respectively.

Not only did Salman Khan's films, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, break Box Office records, but also went on to garner the highest figures in terms of television viewership.

The viewers translated into huge profits for the channel, which is probably why Star Network has now upgraded the deal with Salman to a whopping Rs 1,000 crore.
