Box office: Tubelight underperforms
Salman’s film touches half century in three days
Salman Khan’s Eid release Tubelight has managed to earned Rs. 64.77 crore on the opening weekend. The film had an average opening but is likely to pick up on Eid day. Salman’s both previous releases Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan had crossed Rs.100 crore in the first weekend. However Sultan released on Wednesday instead of Friday unlike Tubelight and Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Tueblight has got 4400 screens India, but south star Allu Arjun’s latest film Duvvada Jagannadham which also stars Pooja Hegde has been doing well not only in India but also in overseas market, inspite of getting lesser screens than Salman’s film. It is said that the film has collected nearly Rs 46 crore in just two days and is soon going to reach Rs 100 crore mark.
This week there is only one small time film Ek Haseena Ek Deewana set to release in Hindi, so Tubelight is expected do well next week and weekend and may cross Rs. 100 crore mark eventually.
