Box Office: Bareilly Ki Barfi off to a decent start

Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann and Rajkummar’s film managed to get good opening

 Bareilly ki Barfi, which is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and stars Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao is slice of life romantic comedy. On the first day of its release it had low occupancy of 15-20% but has managed to collect Rs. 2.42 crore inspite of facing competition from Akshay Kumar’s Toilet- Ek Prem Katha. Akshay’s film released last week and have been performing well at box office as it was supposed to enter in Rs. 100 crore club this week. Bareilly Ki Barfi released in 1000 screens and is made on limited budget of Rs. 20 crore approximately.  The film has received positive reviews and word of mouth has been helping it to get decent footfalls.

 The second release of this week was Gurinder Chadha directorial venture Partition 1947, film starred Huma Qureshi and has not been able to create much buzz. It has got average feedback and did not see good occupancy too. Kajol and Dhanush starrer VIP 2’s Hindi version has not performed well.
