Box Office: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil may enter Rs 100 crore club, Shivaay in hot pursuit

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil held strong hold on Tuesday and raked in around Rs 13.03 crore, taking the five day total to Rs 66 crore.

After a drop in collections on Sunday due to Diwali, the film is performing best at tier one cities i.e. Mumbai, Delhi, Pune etc. Though it hasn't really marked its presence in the mass circuits, the metros have been enough to lift the film and make it reach a reasonable lifetime number.

The Diwali holidays have finally come to rest and the film will witness a noticeable drop in collections on Wednesday. However, a Rs 8 crore plus day six will ensure a definite entry in the Rs 100 crore club.

Day-wise Box Office:

  • Friday: Rs 13.30 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 13.10 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 9.20 crore
  • Monday: Rs 17.75 crore
  • Tuesday: Rs 13.03 crore
  • Total: Rs 66.38 crore

After an average start, Ajay Devgn's Shivaay has started climbing the mountain to break even the investment. The movie raked in around Rs 13 crore on Tuesday, taking the five day total to Rs 58 crore.

What seemed a one sided clash on the opening day is now becoming the clash of titans with the gap between total collections of Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil narrowing with every passing day.

Shivaay has fared the best at Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Indore, and other central Indian markets. It has recorded terrific collections at the mass centres in the last two days. However, just like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, there will be a drop in collections on Wednesday.

The hold in collections on Wednesday would decide the film's fate as the holiday period has finally come to a rest and collections will settle down at a normal level.

Day-wise Box Office:

  • Friday: Rs 10.24 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 10.06 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 8.26 crore
  • Monday: Rs 17.35 crore
  • Tuesday: Rs 11.05 crore
  • Total: Rs 56.86 crore

The footfalls (ticket sales) for Shivaay were way higher than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, however it has fallen short in terms of Box Office collections because of lower ticket prices in the mass belt.
