Since the announcement was made that Rajkummar Rao starrer Newton will be sent to Oscars, the film is doing great at the box office. The film has collected 8.21 crores at the box office in just four opening days, however, when the film was released it was just opened with 96 lakhs on opening day Friday.
Since the critics appreciated it and it was announced for nomination for the Oscars, the film has picked up the race. The film saw a huge growth at the box office since its second day. On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt's comeback film Bhoomi and Shraddha Kapoor's biopic on Haseena Parkar have totally failed at the box office. On an opening day the both films started well but as the film, Newton picked well, both other films slowed.
Sanjay Dutt's comeback film Bhoomi which also stars Aditi Rao Hydari has collected 7.48 crores from the box office in opening three days. On the other hand, Shraddha Kapoor starrer Haseena Parkar directed by Apurva Lakhia has only collected 6.10 crores from the box office.
This box office report clearly has said that audience want good content and even if it doesn't have star it will work at the box office.
