Salman Khan's sister Arpita Khan Sharma threw a birthday party at their Pali Hill residence. However, the bash didn't turn out as expected. Mumbai Police busted the birthday party following complaints of loud music made by neighbours. Khar police officials received an alert on Saturday night, at 2:30 am by the residents of Pacific Heights, Pali Hill.

Santosh Mane, organiser of the party attended by many Bollywood biggies, has also been fined. He had to pay a fine of Rs 12,500 and the music system playing at the party was also seized by the police.

According to the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, loud music at residential areas in Mumbai is allowed to be played between 6am to 10 pm. However, the decibel level permitted depends on area to area.

The organiser of Arpita Khan's birthday party has been booked under Section 33 (r) (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, along with a charge under Local Area Crime (LAC).
