The shooting of Karan Johar's OK Jaanu is currently underway. The film, directed by Shaad Ali under the banner of Dharma Productions, is the official remake of Mani Ratnam's 2015 Tamil film, OK Kanmani.
The film marks the comeback of the superhit Aashiqui 2 duo, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, in the lead.
OK Kanmani, which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in the lead, was a blockbuster at the Box Office.
AR Rahman's music was touted to be one of the main reasons for the success of OK Kanmani. The Mani Ratnam-directorial had to its credit, some catchy songs from the Oscar winning composer, including Malargal Kaetten, Parandhu Sella Vaa and Sinamika.
And according to the latest update, the Bollywood remake will retain all the three hit songs. The songs will be penned by legendary lyricist Gulzar.
The first look of OK Jaanu has been well-received by the audience. The romantic entertainer is slated to release on 13 January 2017.
