The ace music composer AR Rahman is celebrating his 52nd birthday today and the whole film industry is wishing him on this special day. The music composer is a legend and there is no doubt on that, the man with thousand of melodies have won several biggies awards like Oscars. He will always be known for the songs like Roja Jaaneman, Humma Humma, Tu Hi Re, Urvashi Urvashi, Muqabla, Mustafa Mustafa, Kehna Hi Kya and others.
In recent times, we have seen AR Rahman and director Imtiaz Ali's collaboration in the three films Rockstar (2011), Highway (2014), and Tamasha (2015). Their collaboration has surely become the hit and will be known for a long time. They have given songs like Sadda Haq, Tum Ho, Naadaan Parinde, Patakha Guddi, Maahi Ve, Agar Tum Saath Ho, Safarnama and others.
Recently, one biography on AR Rahman was written by the author Krishna Trilok was released in this book director Imtiaz Ali revealed how Rahman after being a legendary music composer insisted him to allow him to compose music for his next film 'Highway' after a super success of Rockster (2011).
Imtiaz Ali told, one day, during a Skype conversation, Rahman asked him about his next film after Rockstar. The director told him about Highway and told that the film is a small budget venture, also shared that there is no scope for the music in the film.
However, even after that Rahman asked him “You want me to do it?”, well, Imtiaz shared there was only one situation in the film that demands a song. Rahman again told, “Yeah, but do you want me to do it?”
“That’s the thing about Rahman Sir. He makes you see what you want. What you want is the only reality that you are aware of, that’s one thing I learnt from him,” Imtiaz shared in this book.
