Amitabh Bachchan to produce Ajith's Thala 58 with Theri director Atlee

Director Atlee's last outing, the Ilyathalapathy Vijay-starrer Theri, will complete 100 days of its theatrical release on 22 July.

Catch had previously reported that Ajith had invited Atlee to his house to narrate the plot of a film, which the superstar was reportedly impressed with.

​According to the latest update, Ajith has agreed to do the Atlee-film after he completes his 57th project - unofficially titled Thala 57. What's more, the Ajith-Atlee project will be produced by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

According to reports, Bachchan wants to bankroll the film under his home banner Amitabh Bachchan Corporation.​

Big B has previously collaborated with Thala Ajith in the 1997 film Ullaasam. The romance drama, which also starred Chiyaan Vikram, was Big B's debut Kollywood production. It will be interesting to see how the Atlee-Ajith film will fare as Ullaasam was a Box Office flop.
